MQ MIDI Channel Page (Settings Dialog)

Settings-MidiCh

This page is displayed when opened from the Studio window or for SysEx components where the MIDI device is not loaded in the Studio. The page is only displayed when it is required for correct communication with the MIDI device.

As described on the page, most components use the standard MIDI channel assigned using the MIDI Setup tab. However some components, most frequently for drums, make use a second, often fixed, channel. When one or more components of a MIDI device require an independent MIDI channel assignment, this page is displayed.

Frequently, the MIDI channel will already be assigned to the correct alternate channel. To make your own assignment, select the entry from the list and use the drop down list to make change channel assignment.

In this example, the Roland D-series instruments use MIDI channel 10 as a fixed channel for the drums so when working with drum related components, Midi Quest uses channel 10 instead of the standard MIDI channel.
