ProTools uses a complex database system to manage plug-in information. This database can become corrupt. When it does, ProTools may be unable to find the Midi Quest plug-ins. If ProTools is unable to find Midi Quest plug-ins, one solution is to clear the database which forces ProTools to rebuild the database and find Midi Quest. To clear the database and force a rebuild, follow these steps: 1/ Completely close ProTools 2/ Open the Finder and press Shift + Command + G to bring up the Go to Folder window 3/ Clear the main Installed AAX Plugins cache Paste: ~/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools/ Delete the file named InstalledAAXPlugins 4/ Clear individual plugin caches (Required for ProTools 2023.12 or newer) Paste: /Users/Shared/Pro Tools/ Delete the entire folder named AAXPlugInCache 5/ Empty your Trash and restart ProTools
