IconBank Patch Editing with the Computer Keyboard (Bank Window)

Along with the standard Copy/Paste and Drag and Drop bank editing facilities, Midi Quest also offers keyboard based editing of banks. This option can be fast and effective particularly when the the computer keyboard cursor keys are already being used to select patches in a bank.

To use this feature, only one patch can be selected in the bank.

Once the patch to be moved is selected, hold down the Ctrl key (Mac cmd key) and then use the four cursor keys (up, down, left, right arrows) to move the selected patch around in the bank. As the location of the patch is moved, the position of the other patches will be adjusted so that their relative order is maintained and no patches are lost as the following sequence of graphics shows

BankCursorEdit1 BankCursorEdit2 BankCursorEdit3 BankCursorEdit4

Keyboard editing fully supports parent/child management so relationships between Combi/Performance SysEx and sound generating Patches is properly maintained when patches are moved in the bank.

note: this option will not be available for Windows Midi Quest Prop plug-ins for host DAWs which capture command key input, of which there are many..
