Midi Quest Pro only

PrpPlugins

The Plug-ins page is used to select which types of instrument plug-ins are automatically installed and uninstalled when a MIDI device is added or removed from the Studio.

Midi Quest Pro features instrument specific plug-ins. That is you can register any MIDI device supported by Midi Quest and when you look at your list of available AU, VST2, VST3, AAX, or MFX plug-ins, you will see that device listed separately. This allows you to treat each instrument as a unique plug-in in your sequencer (or other host).

So what does this page do? It handles automatic registration of MIDI devices as they are added and removed from the studio. For each plug-in type selected in Plug-in Installation, when a new device is added to the studio, the appropriate plug-in versions are automatically created for the selected environments and will appear the next time you run your host.

Conversely, when an instrument is removed from the Studio, the corresponding plug-in instruments for the types listed in Plug-in Uninstallation will automatically be destroyed.

If you are using VST2 as a host system and want plug-ins to be automatically installed and uninstalled, you will need to supply paths to each of your VST2 Plug-ins folders in the VST Plugins page. If there are no VST2 paths listed, the VST2 options on this page will be disabled. After you add one or most paths in the VST2 Plugins page, you must press the Apply button to accept the new paths and make the VST2 options available.
