Midi Quest Pro and Audio Interfaces

Steinberg UR824 and Cubase

This is a Windows only issue. Sound Quest currently has only one note related to audio interfaces, and that is for the Steinberg UR824 when used in conjunction with Cubase and Midi Quest Pro plug-ins. One customer (LJ) has experienced the following issue. After creating a Midi Quest VST3 plug-in on Windows, the plug-ins would not load because the plug-in would cause the Cubase VST3 analyzer to fail. This issue appears to apply specifically to the UR824 interface.

There is a work around for this issue. After adding a Midi Quest VST3 plug-in follow these steps:

1/ After creating Midi Quest Pro VST3 plug-ins, if Cubase is being used as a DAW, open File Explorer
2/ Go to the following directory: c:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
3/ In this directory, there is a directory called "UR"
4/ Select the UR directory and delete it

Run Cubase and it will successfully scan the new Midi Quest plug-ins. After scanning, Cubase will automatically recreate the UR folder and the DAW will successfully run. If a new Midi Quest plug-in needs to be added in the future, simply repeat this process.
