Assign Category as a Tag (Library Window)
"Assign Category as a Tag" performs the same function as pressing the Import Category to button on the Properties Page of the Settings dialog. It extracts the category information from the SysEx and adds it to one of the eight Midi Quest tags.
The advantage of menu option is that anywhere from one to all of the patches in the library can have the category assigned with a single selection where the Settings dialog operates on one patch at a time.
The tag number used to store the category is assigned in the Settings dialog. To select the destination, open the dialog and click on the Properties tab. The tag number selected in Properties is the one that is used for this operation.
Directions:
To assign the category information stored in a patch to a Midi Quest tag in a library:
| 1. | Select the patches in the library that you wish to assign (from one to all patches) |
| 2. | Choose Library/Tags/Assign Category as a Tag |
| 3. | Midi Quest extract the category or style information from the SysEx and use it to assign an equivalent tag to Midi Quest. |
