Instrument To Set/Editor (Studio Window) Purpose: Instrument to Set/Editor is one of the most commonly used in the program. It loads SysEx out of the instrument and into a Collection, Set, Bank or Editor window. How this function operates varies depending on what is selected in the Studio window as described below. If a single device is selected and that device has a Set selected, Midi Quest will create a new Set window. If a single device is selected and that device has a Component selected (bank or single SysEx), Midi Quest will create a new Bank or new Editor appropriate to the selected SysEx. In Midi Quest Pro, it the selected SysEx is not a bank and doesn't have an editor, the SysEx is displayed in a View window. If multiple devices are selected, a new Collection is created. In that Collection are placed new Sets and SysEx components. After the SysEx is created, it is loaded from the respective instrument(s). When an Instrument Set is loaded, it contains SysEx for each of the instrument's components that are part of the Set. The instrument components that have both 'Set Member' and 'Auto' designators are loaded directly from the instrument Those components designated with just 'Set Member' are added to the Set but not loaded from the instrument. These components typically load less frequently utilized SysEx types which are also part of the internals of the instrument. For more information please see Sets. If there is an error while loading SysEx, please check Fast Tips for the component and the MIDI Communication Errors.
