MQ MIDI In Ports (MIDI Menu)

MIDI IN Ports selects the MIDI IN Ports available to the program.

For the program to receive MIDI events, it must do so through open MIDI IN Ports. By default, Midi Quest opens all MIDI ports found in the system including virtual ports.

Warning. In some cases on Windows systems, custom MIDI ports such as those handling SMPTE specific time code do not react well to being opened by Midi Quest. In these cases, un-check the "Use All Available MIDI Ports" open and select only those ports required by Midi Quest.

In the case of Windows system Midi Quest plug-ins, setup is different. In this case, only those MIDI ports actually required by the plug-in should be opened as Windows doesn't manage MIDI port resources well. In ths case the "Use All Available MIDI Ports" option is not available.

To select the MIDI IN ports to use with the program, highlight the ports you would like to have open from the list on the left hand side of the dialog. (Hold down the CNTRL key to make individual selections.)

To select or change the selection of Midi In Ports:

1.Choose MIDI/MIDI In Ports
2.Select the MIDI Ports that the program is to use
