Cubase vstxml Files (Plug-ins)
When installing VST2 plug-ins, Midi Quest Pro automatically creates an associated .vstxml file. vstxml files are read by Cubase and used to provide an enhanced VST2 parameter including extended parameter names and actual text or numeric values instead of a simple value between 0.0 and 1.0.
For Windows users, the one requirement for the successful creation of these files is that the VSTPlugins folder must have standard write privileges. If your VSTPlugins folder is located within the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders which require a higher level of security, the file will not be created,
If you are using a VST host other than Cubase, vstxml files are ignored. In this case, you may choose to not have them created by unchecking the "Create vstxml file with VST plug-in" option in the Preferences / Studio tab.
Note: vstxml files are standard text xml files and can be loaded into any text editor. However, unless you are familiar with the xml format, we do not recommend manually editing these files.
