Get <SysEx> from Instrument (MIDI Menu) Purpose: Get SysEx From Instrument appears in a number of different windows and is context sensitive so it displays the appropriate information to describe what would be loaded if it were to be selected. The main location is the 4th entry in the MIDI menu. In this location, the text will change depending on the currently active window. from the Studio Window When the Studio Window is active this option will read "Get Set from Access Virus" if the Virus is the currently selected instrument and it is configured to load a Set. If the selected instrument in the Studio is configured to load a particular type of SysEx, the entry will read Get Voice Bank (User 1) from Yamaha Motif 6 if the Motif 6 is selected to load its User 1 Voice Bank. When selected, a new window of the selected type is created and then the SysEx is loaded into the window. The equivalent command can be found in the Instrument To submenu of the Studio menu
from an Editor Window The menu item will read Get "SysEx type" from "instrument name" and selecting it will load that SysEx from the instrument into the Editor Window. The equivalent command can be found in the Editor menu.
from a Bank Window The behavior of this option will vary depending on the instrument and there are two basic types of instruments. For instruments where it is possible to load patches individually into a bank, if one or more items in the bank are selected The menu item will read Get "SysEx type" from "instrument name" and selecting it will load that SysEx. The equivalent command can be found in the Bank menu.
